STORY LINE: There are a series of "prisoners" in this compelling mystery in which the the abduction of two little girls rocks a small
community...

[RALPH DOVER] 15, he is the Dovers' older child, first seen out hunting with his dad. Ralph idolizes his father, even if he barely understands him. A typical teen with raging hormones, he becomes romantically involved with the Birchs' teenage daughter, and takes her to his grandfather's old apartment for a rendezvous, only to be alarmed by what he finds. He quickly contacts 911, terrified he has discovered the place where his little sister has been held prisoner. LEAD (1)

[ELIZA] 15, she is the Birchs' older daughter, a girl on the brink of womanhood, clearly smitten by Ralph. While alarmed and upset when her sister goes missing, she is even more upset by her mother's unrelenting harping, angry that she is allowed no autonomy.
