Ed Norton Updates Hulk Sequel and The Avengers

Labels: , , ,

We're still a few years away from seeing Marvel build up several of their signature comic book characters into the superhero team The Avengers, and while one character already has his own sequel with Iron Man 2 on the way, there have been rumblings of another Incredible Hulk installment coming to fruition before The Avengers as well. However, making the rounds at SXSW, Edward Norton squashed those rumors when he told MTV: "No, I think they've got a whole lot of stuff to spool out before they get on into [a Hulk sequel]." Norton also nixed any involvement of a cameo in Thor or The First Avenger: Captain America. Read on!

Although the interviewers say Norton doesn't sound all that thrilled when talking about an Incredible Hulk sequel or The Avengers, in his denials, it sounds like he might be just waiting around until The Avengers is ready to actually be made before he decides to get big and green again. Norton explains to ComingSoon:

"There's always been an agenda I think to unspool a lot of the Marvel Universe and then come back… I think they've got a lot of new stuff that they're rolling out and then I think at some point they're going to figure out how they want to get around to Avengers."

Norton then mentioned a very similar thought to Cinematical when they talked with him recently as well:

"I get the sense they have this grand vision of unspooling a lot of their characters and then starting to put them together. I think they can only do so many at a time. Obviously, they are doing Iron Man 2 and then getting some of the new ones out."
