Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds to Team Up for Buddy Cop Movie

Just because a whole slew of projects already have Ryan Reynolds attached, that's not going to stop him from adding another project to his future slate. RiskyBiz reports Reynolds is going to team-up with Bradley Cooper for a buddy cop action comedy from screenwriter Sheldon Turner who was nominated for an Academy Award for writing Up in the Air with director Jason Reitman. The currently untitled film would see Cooper and Reynolds as two San Francisco cops and friends, whose fathers were once partners on the police force. Things get interesting when they have to bring their fathers out of retirement to help crack a new case.

Surely plenty of its comedy will come from the difference between the two generations of police officers, but with Turner writing, there's bound to be some genuine drama in there somewhere, too. Apparently the tone is something akin to a Lethal Weapon police comedy and will be in R-rated territory. Apparently this project was once attempted five years ago (back then it was called Blowback) and had Dwayne Johnson attached to star.
