DVD Review: Iron Man 2

Labels: , ,

I was driving home from school, after exposing my S.H.I.E.L.D. t-shirt from the jacket that had covered it all day. The light had just turned red when I heard the theme song to the 1994 animated TV show "Spider-Man". I picked up my battered blackberry from which the song was coming from, and saw it was a call from my mother. I answered it, and mom said the UPS truck came and left a package for me. Hooray! She then asked who in their right mind would send me anything, I avoided the question by telling her that the light was about to turn green, and I didn't want to talk and drive. (SpoilerTV endorses safe driving!) 40 minutes later, I pulled up in the driveway. I walked in the house, said hi to my family, and then I saw it. It was right there, laying on the counter, waiting for me! I ripped open the yellow envelope and found myself staring at Iron Man Mark 5 on a hard plastic case. Iron Man 2 on DVD was here at last! I opened the DVD, and saw that it was in an eco-friendly case, Marvel is green apparently. Bruce Banner would like that. So, I poured myself an ice cold Coca-Cola, made a toasted ham and swiss sandwich, and began to watch my favorite movie of 2010.

I went on the journey with Tony Stark as he battled the government, Ivan Vanko, and himself. I really got caught up in it, like I was watching for the first time. When it finished, I marveled (no pun intended) over the scene after the credits, and then went to the main menu, and pressed "play" again, this time with a commentary from Director Jon Favreau. When that finished, after over 4 hours of straight Iron Man, I still found myself wanting more! More Tony Stark! More War Machine! More S.H.I.E.L.D.! I found out that the Special Edition Blu-Ray version has hours and hours of special features! Needless to say, I will spend money I don't have to obtain that.

Iron Man 2 is out on DVD and Blu-Ray now! Go buy it!
