The Dark Knight Rises - More Evidence Robin Might Appear?

Labels: ,

Ok before you read any further, this post is all based on a rumor from an "anonymous" source. At the same time these sources some times end up being the most reliable.

Below is a statement via AICN from apparently location scouts working on The Dark Knight Rises that are looking for a "hideout" for Robin.

Now, the last few days I have actually been having a discussion with a fellow comic book fan and reader of the site about the possibilities of Robin actually appearing in the movie based on the confirmed evidence we do have. Both of us agree that we do not want to see Robin, but also understand with Bane being the main baddie that this is the biggest reason we could see Robin.

In the comic book story line Bane breaks Batman's back and really is what he is known for in the Batman universe. So if Nolan goes that route, then in order for the story to fit an extended movie they would need Bane to break Batman's back early and then have Robin be some sort of "stand-in" while Batman recovers. Meanwhile Batman recovers with the villains running Gotham and then at the end Batman comes and saves the day.

In addition to the potential storyline many have speculated that Joseph-Gordon Levitt will actually be cast as Robin.

So who knows? Maybe you do not want to see Robin but there is some evidence and now even a rumor to support the possibility.

At the end of the day, I trust Nolan even if Robin appears.

What do you all think??

Here is portion of the report from AICN.

According to Eaton County and Grand Ledge officials who didn’t want to be identified due to confidentiality agreements, production crews from “The Dark Knight Rises” scouted locations in Grand Ledge’s Fitzgerald Park last week.

They looked at the Ledges as well as a water treatment plant located inside the park. Sources say the area is being considered as a hideout for Batman sidekick Robin.
